A supportive 2-form entry primary school in Hanwell is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant / Behaviour Mentor to join their team from September 2026 for the full academic year.
This role will involve supporting two pupils in Year 5 who require additional behavioural and emotional support to access learning successfully. The school is looking for someone who can build positive, consistent relationships with pupils while maintaining high expectations and helping them develop confidence, resilience, and independence.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant, Behaviour Mentor, or Learning Support Assistant looking for a rewarding long-term role.

The Role
The successful candidate will:
- Provide dedicated support for two pupils in Year 5
- Build positive and trusting relationships to encourage engagement in learning
- Implement behaviour support strategies consistently
- Support pupils both in the classroom and during intervention sessions
- Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals where required
- Encourage positive social interactions and emotional regulation
- Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
Requirements
The school is looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs in a UK primary school
- Has experience working with children who display challenging behaviour or require additional emotional support
- Can develop strong, professional relationships with pupils while maintaining clear boundaries
- Is calm, patient, and resilient
- Has excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Is committed to helping children make both academic and personal progress
Experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant, Behaviour Mentor, Learning Mentor, or Learning Support Assistant is highly desirable.
Salary
-95110 per day PAYE
Rate dependent on experience.
