You could be looking for regular work alongside other commitments, wanting to gain experience in different school settings, or hoping to find a long-term placement where you can become part of a school community.

We’ll take the time to understand your experience, availability and what you want from your next role before introducing you to suitable schools.

Depending on your circumstances, opportunities can include:

• Full-time Teaching Assistant positions
• Part-time and regular weekly work
• Short-term and longer-term placements
• Opportunities across primary schools in Neath Port Talbot
• Roles supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups

You’ll have a dedicated consultant on hand throughout your placement, helping you find opportunities that are a good fit.

You don’t need to have worked as a Teaching Assistant before.

Experience in schools, nurseries, childcare, youth work, sports, coaching, residential care, mentoring or volunteering can all provide valuable skills for working in the classroom.

As a Teaching Assistant, you could support pupils with their learning, wellbeing and behaviour while helping create a positive and inclusive classroom.

Your day-to-day responsibilities may include:

• Supporting teachers with classroom activities
• Helping individual pupils or small groups with their learning
• Encouraging pupils to participate and stay engaged
• Supporting positive behaviour
• Helping children develop confidence and independence
• Providing practical and pastoral support where needed
