Duties as Teaching Assistant:Support pupils with ASD in Year 7, adapting activities to meet individual communication and learning needs.Assist in delivering planned learning sequences and help pupils apply skills in real-life contexts.Use speech, signing and/or symbols to promote communication development.Contribute to creating a calm, safe, and positive learning environment.Help pupils maintain focus through short, structured learning activities.Support behaviour management using consistent, positive approaches.Work with the class teacher to monitor progress and assist pupils in catching up when needed.Ideal Teaching Assistant:Experience supporting pupils with SEND, particularly ASD, is desirable but not essential.Good communication skills and willingness to use a range of communication methods.A patient, calm, and consistent approach to behaviour.Ability to follow structured plans and adapt support to suit individual needs.Commitment
