£70,000 – £75,000 + Car Allowance + 8% Pension + Healthcare

The Opportunity

NEOS Engineering Recruitment are working with a leading earthworks contractor delivering major UK infrastructure projects.

They’re looking for a Service Manager to take full ownership of plant maintenance, compliance, and fleet performance across a large earthmoving fleet.

This is a business-critical role, keeping machines running and projects moving.

The Role

• Drive plant availability through PPM and maintenance strategies
• Balance reactive vs preventative maintenance
• Lead and manage engineers, fitters, and inspectors
• Ensure compliance with PUWER, LOLER, DVSA & OEM standards
• Control budgets, parts spend, and lifecycle costs
• Manage OEMs, suppliers, and service providers
• Report on uptime, reliability, and performance

You’ll sit between plant, ops, and commercial — making sure everything works.

The Candidate

• Background in heavy plant / earthmoving equipment
• Experience as a Service Manager, Workshop Manager, or similar
• Strong knowledge of maintenance strategies & compliance
• Proven team leadership across workshop & field
• Commercially aware — costs, budgets, lifecycle
• Comfortable with CMMS systems and reporting
