We at Smart4EPC are glad to be assisting our client, a Tier 1 main contractor, on their search for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a major infrastructure project in London. This is an excellent opportunity to work on one of the UK''s most significant construction programmes, managing the cost and contract management aspects of work packages from initiation through to close-out.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer contractual terms and conditions for suppliers and sub-contractors
• Administer incentivisation arrangements as appropriate
• Support the assessment of the package and compensation events
• Provide regular cash flow forecasts of expenditure for the package
• Report expenditure against the package budget on a monthly basis
• Contribute to the monthly consolidated project-wide cost/expenditure report
• Assess potential contractor and supplier claims and make recommendations for settlement
• Finalise contractor accounts and close out contracts for the project
• Support the audit team with defined cost auditing as required, and audit of the final account pack
• Raise consultant, supplier or contractor instructions as necessary, taking these through the change management process for approval by the Senior Leadership Team and Client
• Report on expenditure of financial contingency built into relevant packages
• Provide schedules of rates and commercial input to tender documentation
• Undertake cost analysis of bid returns
• Assist the package project manager and procurement team in resolving financial/commercial issues arising in tender returns
• Support negotiations for relevant tenders
• Receive and review monthly valuations from contractors and incorporate into the monthly Client application for payment
• Review all instructions issued by the project manager for cost implications
• Support the change control process, identifying the cost implications of proposed changes

Candidate Requirements:

• Strong knowledge of commercial management
• Knowledge of various forms of NEC contract
• Familiarity with IT systems relevant to commercial control (e.g. CEMAR & Aconex)
• Experience in commercial management
• Experience on construction projects
• A degree in Quantity Surveying, or equivalent professional experience
• Able to collaborate and work well as part of a team
• Strong focus on detail
