Yolk Recruitment are partnered with a successful and well established food and drink manufacturer based near Hereford who have been making premium award-winning products since 1880.

They are searching for a Lead Transport Planner to play a vital leadership role in keeping their operations running smoothly.

This is what you''ll be doing:

• Lead the day-to-day planning and optimisation of a UK-wide multi-drop, multi-day delivery fleet.
• Schedule fleet movements, driver and shunter rotas, supplier collections, internal transfers and third-party collections.
• Ensure all deliveries are completed safely, on time, in full and in compliance with transport legislation and drivers'' hours regulations.
• Monitor transport performance, identify opportunities for continuous improvement and maximise fleet utilisation while reducing operational costs.
• Communicate effectively with drivers, warehouse teams, suppliers, customers and internal stakeholders to respond to changing operational demands.

The experience you''ll need in this role:

• Proven experience in transport planning, fleet scheduling or logistics operations within a fast-paced distribution environment.
• Strong knowledge of UK road transport legislation, drivers'' hours regulations and transport compliance requirements.
• Experience optimising fleet utilisation, improving operational efficiency and delivering high service levels.
• Excellent organisational, problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience collaborating effectively across drivers, operational teams, suppliers and customers.
