Social Housing and Health & Safety Enforcement Experience Needed

Daniel Owen are proud to be representing a well-known company based in the Wembley area who are looking for a highly skilled Senior Environmental Health Officer to join their team.

Purpose of the Job - Planner

• Conduct inspections, investigations and enforcement activities to ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation and protect public health and safety.

• Manage a varied caseload of complaints, service requests, accident investigations and RIDDOR notifications, ensuring all cases are progressed within statutory timescales.

• Lead on complex enforcement matters, including serving statutory notices, gathering evidence, undertaking interviews and preparing cases for prosecution where necessary.

• Monitor and assess risks within commercial premises, providing expert advice and guidance to businesses, stakeholders and members of the public.

• Maintain accurate records, case files and reports, ensuring all information is recorded in accordance with legislative requirements and council procedures.

• Undertake proactive inspections, audits and compliance visits to identify breaches of legislation and implement appropriate enforcement action.

• Support and contribute to service improvement initiatives, performance targets and regulatory projects within the Environmental Health service.

• Provide technical advice and mentorship to colleagues, sharing best practice and supporting the development of less experienced officers.

• Liaise effectively with internal departments, external agencies, legal services and partner organisations to achieve positive regulatory outcomes.

• Deliver a high standard of customer service while ensuring the consistent application of environmental health legislation, policies and enforcement procedures.
