Part-time Speech and Language Therapist

Location: Barking & Dagenham, Redbridge , Havering & Waltham Forest
Pay: Up to -35 per hour
Hours: 3-4 days per week, term time only

We are working with a well-established specialist Speech & Language Therapy service supporting children and young people across East London and surrounding areas. They are looking for a Part-time Speech and Language Therapist to join their team on a flexible, term-time basis.

This is a varied role working with children aged 2-16, combining assessment and therapy across mainstream schools, nurseries and community settings.

• Work 3-4 days per week, term time only
• 1-2 days per week within mainstream schools, generally 9:00am-3:00pm
• Remaining days supporting children in their homes, schools or nurseries
• Working hours vary depending on the caseload, typically 9:00am-3/4pm or 10:30am-4:30/5:30pm
• See approximately 4-5 clients per day on community-based days
• Complete assessments, therapy sessions and reports
• Maintain clinical notes and documentation using WriteUpp
• Work with families, education staff and other professionals

You will work with children presenting with a range of speech, language and communication needs, including:

• Speech and language delay/disorder
• Autism and social communication difficulties
• Dyspraxia
• Selective mutism
• Other specialist areas depending on your experience and clinical interests

The schools are primarily based across Barking & Dagenham and Redbridge, with most community clients located across Havering and Waltham Forest.

There is flexibility around travel, so if there are specific areas you are unable to cover, this can be discussed.

We are looking for a Part-time Speech and Language Therapist who:

• Has experience working with children and young people
• Is confident carrying out assessments and delivering therapy
• Has strong report-writing and clinical documentation skills
• Can work independently and manage a varied caseload
• Enjoys working across different settings
• Is committed to child-centred and collaborative practice
• Car driver preferred, but not essential
