Transport for Greater Manchester .A highly knowledgeable and driven Senior Commercial Manager is needed to lead critical commercial strategies and projects for Manchester''s Metrolink, the UK''s largest light rail network. TfGM has launched its largest-ever tender under the Procurement Act 2023 for an estimated £1.9 billion Metrolink Operations and Maintenance Agreement starting in July 2027. The Senior Commercial Manager will contribute to a world-class, integrated transport system for Greater Manchester.If you thrive on navigating complex commercial and contractual challenges, driving value, and fostering collaborative relationships across diverse teams and stakeholders, applications are welcome. The successful applicant will be instrumental in ensuring the effective delivery of operation and maintenance and the commercial success of the Metrolink network.What you''ll do

Lead the Metrolink Franchising Commercial Team, overseeing commercial and contract management, commercial negotiations and strategic financial planning.Drive continuous improvement in commercial processes, including budgetary cycle oversight, dispute resolution and reporting to TfGM / GMCA governance boards.Bring extensive experience in contract and financial management, stakeholder engagement, and team leadership, with professional qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or MCIPS.Base location: TfGM''s 2 Piccadilly Place, Central Manchester, contributing to efficient, value-driven franchising operations.Who are we looking for

Extensive experience in commercial and contract management within customer-focused organisations, including complex procurement, negotiation and financial oversight.Demonstrated strategic budgetary control, stakeholder engagement, and the ability to simplify complex issues.Proven leadership in challenging commercial environments with strong interpersonal skills.Desirable experience in transport or public sector settings, understanding legal contract implications and public funding knowledge.Degree-level education and ongoing professional development; professional qualifications (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA, MCIPS) are essential.What we can offer you
