Software Backend Engineer (Golang)

Full-timeMateHR is currently seeking an experienced Backend Engineer on behalf of a rapidly scaling fintech startup that''s reshaping global transaction services. This exciting organisation is expanding internationally, notably within the UK market. You''ll become part of a passionate, collaborative team committed to delivering impactful financial solutions.Responsibilities
Develop and maintain backend services using GoLang (or Java as an alternative).Design and implement RESTful APIs following company standards.Work with observability stack (logging, metrics, tracing) to monitor and improve system health.Apply Domain-Driven Design and modularization concepts.Implement asynchronous processing with approaches like co-routines, message queuing, and event streaming (Kafka).Work with relational databases (PostgreSQL): evolving schemas, transaction isolation levels, and writing efficient SQL queries.Implement caching strategies (Redis).Containerize applications using Docker or similar technologies.Qualifications
5+ years of professional backend development experience (GoLang preferred; Java acceptable).Experience with observability tools (logging, metrics, tracing).Strong experience building RESTful APIs and applying company standards.Understanding of Domain-Driven Design and modularization.Experience with asynchronous processing (Kafka or similar).Proficiency with PostgreSQL, including schema evolution, isolation levels, and SQL optimization.Understanding caching patterns (Redis).Experience with Docker and container technologies.Soft Skills
Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.Positive attitude and passion for technology and continuous learning.Nice to Have
Experience setting up CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions).BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject.Why Join
