Permanent, full-time (35 hours)Our client, the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), is seeking an outstanding Director of standards to shape and lead their regulatory function at a crucial stage in their evolution.Representing over 9,000 members as the UK’s leading professional body and regulator for psychotherapy, UKCP plays a vital role in safeguarding standards, promoting ethical practice and strengthening public trust in the profession.This newly created, senior leadership role offers the opportunity to shape the future of standards and ethics across psychotherapy, ensuring robust public protection and professional accountability. Reporting directly to the Chief executive officer, the Director will sit on the Senior Management Team and play a central role in organisational strategy.Key responsibilities include:Leading the development and oversight of professional standards, ethics and training frameworks.Directing accreditation, reaccreditation, and quality assurance of training organisations.Overseeing regulatory policy, complaints and conduct processes.Acting as a senior representative with the Professional Standards Authority, committees, training providers, and sector partners.Providing strategic leadership and development to the regulation team.The successful candidate will bring:Significant leadership experience within a regulatory, professional standards or education environment.Proven expertise in quality assurance, accreditation or professional ethics.The ability to influence policy and strategy at a senior level.Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.A values-driven approach, with a clear commitment to fairness, equity and public protection.This is a unique opportunity to shape professional standards and make a lasting impact on psychotherapy in the UK, driving innovation, accountability and excellence across the professionPlease apply by Monday 22 September.
