The ideal candidate will have deep experience with public and private cloud platforms, with a strong focus on converting and migrating workloads from public to private cloud environments. This role involves architectural planning, platform evaluation, and implementation to ensure a secure, scalable, and cost-efficient architecture that aligns with business goals.Key Responsibilities:Translate Business Needs into Technical Designs:

Collaborate closely with Product Owners, architects, engineers and other stakeholders to understand complex requirements and translate them into detailed architectural diagrams, documentation, and implementation roadmaps, ready for engineers to implement.Design and Architect Secure Cloud Solutions:

Architect and document secure, scalable, and highly available systems across public, private, and hybrid cloud environments.Champion Security and Compliance:

Serve as a subject matter expert on cloud security, ensuring all architectural designs adhere to strict regulatory and compliance frameworks, including

NIST, SOC 2, and CSA / CAIQ . Actively collaborate with security and compliance teams to embed governance into the architecture.Lead Strategic Cloud Initiatives:

Steer key architectural decisions and lead strategic projects, such as the migration of workloads from public to private cloud, platform evaluation, and the adoption of new cloud services.Develop and Enforce Architectural Standards:

Establish and govern cloud architecture best practices, patterns, and policies to ensure consistency, security, and operational excellence across the organisation.Provide Technical Leadership and Guidance:

Mentor and guide engineering teams during the implementation phase, ensuring designs are built as specified and providing clarity on architectural principles.Qualifications:Required:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or a related field, or equivalent experience.6+ years of experience in a technical role with at least 2+ years focused on cloud architecture.Demonstrable experience designing cloud native and cloud-enabled solutions within regulated environments (e.g., Financial Services, Healthcare).Proven experience creating detailed design documentation, including architectural diagrams, data flow models, and technical specifications ready for engineering teams to implement.Strong understanding of containerization and orchestration (e.g.,

Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift ).Deep expertise in at least one major public cloud platform ( AWS, Azure, or GCP ) - preferably

AWS.Solid foundation in core infrastructure concepts: networking (VPCs, firewalls, routing), security (IAM, encryption, key management), storage, and virtualisation.Preferred:In-depth knowledge of security frameworks such as ISO27001/17/18, NIST, SOC 2, and CSA / CAIQ.Professional cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert).Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like

Terraform

or CloudFormation.Hands-on experience architecting and managing on-premise private cloud platforms (e.g., VMware, OpenShift).Specific experience in the FinTech industry.Soft Skills:Adaptable:

Demonstrable ability to context switch between projects, types of architecture and cloud environments.Exceptional Communication:

Proven ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences, from senior business leaders to junior engineers.Strategic and Analytical Thinking:

Ability to see the bigger picture, evaluate trade-offs, and make principles-based decisions that align with long-term business goals.Collaborative Leadership:

A natural ability to build consensus, facilitate technical discussions, and drive initiatives to completion across multiple teams.Problem-Solving Mindset:
