Exciting Opportunity: Child Protection ChairLocation: Wakefield (Castleford - 5 Towns, opposite train station) Rate: 40 per hour Duration: 3 months (covering sickness) Hours: Full time or Part time (4 days per week considered) Start: ASAP Interviews: Via TeamsAbout the Role:Wakefield''s Safeguarding and Review Unit is seeking a qualified Social Worker to join their experienced team as a Child Protection Chair.Key Responsibilities:Chair Child Protection Conferences (initial and review)Supervision order reviews and meetingsConduct suitability checks for foster carersParticipate in duty rota systemTypically run 2 conferences per day (may have up to 4 in morning and 4 in afternoon)Working Arrangements:Mainly office-based (conferences are face-to-face)Office hours from 9amWrite-up work can be done from home when no conferences scheduledSome conferences off-site (car driver ideally required)Based at 5 Towns, Castleford - excellent transport links opposite train stationAbout the Team:The Safeguarding and Review Unit is an experienced and knowledgeable team that chairs Child Protection Conferences, Child in Care Reviews, LADO and Foster Carer Reviews. The service works closely with internal and external partners to achieve positive outcomes for children and young people.The team is developing a culture of restorative practice and offers an opportunity to influence social work practice through supportive links with teams and collaborative quality assurance work.What They''re Looking F
