We''re supporting a leading specialist civil engineering and reinforced concrete contractor with the appointment of a Senior Quantity Surveyor to strengthen their commercial team. The business delivers complex RC frame, groundworks and structural packages across high-profile projects across the west midlands.

This role offers the opportunity to take commercial ownership of major packages on technically demanding schemes, working within a well-structured and experienced commercial function.

Reporting into a Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for the full commercial lifecycle of your project(s), from procurement through to final account.

Key duties include:

• Managing subcontract procurement and package buy-out
  
• Administering contracts (NEC predominantly, JCT where applicable)
  
• Valuations, variations, change control and cost reporting
  
• Producing and managing CVRs and forecasts
  
• Leading subcontractor negotiations and final accounts
  
• Liaising closely with operational teams to ensure commercial objectives are achieved
  

You will have responsibility for significant project values and will play a key role in protecting margin and managing risk.

• Proven experience as a Senior QS or strong Project QS ready to step up
  
• Background in civil engineering, groundworks or RC frame environments
  
• Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts
  
• Commercially astute with strong analytical and negotiation skills
  
• Comfortable managing projects with minimal supervision
  
• Degree qualified (Quantity Surveying or equivalent) preferred
  

• Exposure to major infrastructure and structural schemes
  
• A stable, growing contractor with a strong secured pipeline
