Assistant Transport Planner

I''m working with a well-established multi-disciplinary consultancy that is looking to recruit an Assistant Transport Planner to join its team in Didcot. You will be joining a Transport and Highways team of 13.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with around 6 months to 2 years'' experience who is looking to develop their career within development-related transport planning. You''ll gain exposure to a varied range of projects, working alongside experienced consultants while continuing to build your technical knowledge and consultancy experience.

The Role

• Assisting with the preparation of Transport Assessments and Transport Statements.
• Contributing to Travel Plans and supporting development planning applications.
• Undertaking research, data collection and analysis to support transport planning projects.
• Assisting with junction capacity assessments and traffic modelling.
• Preparing technical reports and supporting documentation.
• Liaising with colleagues and other project stakeholders.
• Supporting projects from initial feasibility through to planning submission.

What They''re Looking For

• Around 6 months to 2 years'' experience in transport planning.
• A degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Geography or a related discipline would be advantageous.
• Some experience of development-related transport planning, ideally including Transport Assessments, Transport Statements or Travel Plans.
• Good written and verbal communication skills, particularly report writing.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• A proactive approach and a genuine interest in developing within the transport planning sector.
