SEN Teaching Assistant • 1 to 1• Full-time• Ongoing contract• Church of England Primary School• KT6 (Kingston-on-Thames) A friendly and inclusive primary school in KT6 are looking for an experienced and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible to support a pupil with additional needs on a 1:1 basis. The role In this role you will be working 1:1 with a pupil with ASC who is non-verbal and presents with behaviour challenges. The pupil requires consistent adult support to access learning, follow routines and engage safely within the classroom environment. Your responsibilities will include: Supporting the pupil to understand and engage with learning activities using appropriate communication strategiesPromoting positive behaviour and emotional regulationUsing visual supports, sensory strategies and structured routinesAssisting with social interaction and play skillsSupporting during some breaktimes and transitions You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to follow individual support plans and will contribute to assessment, target setting and progress reporting. Relevant experience working with children with ASC, non-verbal communication and behaviour needs is essential for this role.
