Flood Risk Engineer
Our client, is currently seeking a Flood Risk Engineer to join their team. This is a full-time, temporary role for three months with a view to extend, focusing on providing technical expertise in flood risk analysis and drainage systems.Key Responsibilities:Delivering Council services across flood risk analysis, including reviewing flood risk assessments and SuDS designs.Responding to planning applications and contributing to the management of the Council''s flood storage assets.Challenging consultants and developers to design effective drainage systems that comply with local and national planning policy and legislation.Monitoring and assessing new and existing drainage systems across various developments, including large residential sites.Ensuring the Council meets its statutory obligations and maintains high standards of probity and conduct.Participating in site visits, inspections, and handling public enquiries confidently and responsibly.Working as part of the Environmental Protection and Drainage Team to reduce flood risk and review inappropriate drainage systems.Undertaking practical tasks such as lifting manholes, inspecting drainage systems, or flood risk assets when required.Job Requirements:Relevant professional degree/qualification or demonstrable equivalent work experience in flood risk engineering, drainage, or environmental protection.Understanding of safeguarding issues commensurate with the role.Previous experience in an organisation of comparable scale and co
