Parent Carer Forum Co-production Support Officer

Location: Barking
Working Pattern: Hybrid (typically 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home)
Rate: -22.54 per hour PAYE / -29.42 per hour Umbrella
Contract: Temporary, 3 months initially with view for further extension

We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Parent Carer Forum Co-production Support Officer to join a high-profile SEND Reform Programme, helping to ensure that the voices of children, young people and families are at the heart of service design and delivery.

This is an exciting opportunity to support meaningful engagement and co-production across SEND services, working closely with parent carers, schools, partner organisations and professionals to drive positive change and improve outcomes for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

As part of the Council''s ambitious SEND Reform Programme and Experts at Hand model, you''ll play a vital role in ensuring lived experience directly influences decision-making, policy development and service improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and delivery of co-production arrangements across the SEND Reform Programme.
  • Work closely with the Parent Carer Forum and family representatives to promote engagement and participation.
  • Coordinate meetings, workshops, focus groups and consultation activities.
  • Promote participation opportunities to parent carers, children and young people.
  • Gather, analyse and report feedback from engagement activities.
  • Produce reports, summaries and briefing papers highlighting key findings and recommendations.
  • Maintain stakeholder databases and communication networks.
  • Support the implementation of engagement plans and co-production strategies.
  • Ensure feedback from families is effectively captured and reflected in service improvement initiatives.
  • Build strong relationships with families, schools, health partners, voluntary sector organisations and council services.
  • Champion inclusive and accessible engagement opportunities for diverse communities.
  • Help foster a culture of participation and co-production across Children''s Services.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Experience working within engagement, participation, community development, family support or a related field.
  • Experience organising and facilitating meetings, workshops, consultations or engagement activities.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including families, schools, professionals and partner organisations.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience gathering, analysing and presenting feedback and information in a clear and meaningful way.
  • Knowledge of GDPR, information governance and handling confidential information securely.
