Senior Cable Engineer - Derby

The role:
You''ll be responsible for the design of HV/EHV (11kV-400kV) cable systems, from initial concept and costing through to detailed engineering and project delivery.

Key responsibilities:

• Design HV/EHV cable systems, including sizing and rating calculations
• Produce drawings, material schedules, and technical documentation
• Carry out installation, pulling tension, and loading calculations
• Liaise with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
• Support site visits, design reviews, and project delivery

What we''re looking for:

• Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
• Experience with HV/EHV power systems (cables and/or substations)
• Strong design skills (AutoCAD, schematics, calculations)
• Understanding of cable installation methods
• Able to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
