HGV Mechanic
Job PurposeTo carry out inspection, maintenance, servicing, and repair of Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) and trailers, ensuring vehicles are safe, roadworthy, and compliant with DVSA and company standards.Key ResponsibilitiesCarry out routine servicing, maintenance, and repairs on HGVs and trailersDiagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faultsConduct MOT preparation and inspections (including PMIs)Complete defect reports and service documentation accuratelyEnsure all work is carried out in line with health and safety regulationsUse diagnostic equipment and manufacturer systems effectivelyMaintain workshop cleanliness and equipmentLiaise with workshop management regarding vehicle condition and repair requirementsEnsure compliance with DVSA, VOSA, and company standards at all timesSkills and CompetenciesStrong fault-finding and diagnostic skillsGood knowledge of HGV systems (engines, gearboxes, brakes, electrics, air systems)Ability to work independently and as part of a teamGood time management and organisational skillsAttention to detail and commitment to safetyAbility to work under pressure and meet deadlinesQualifications and Experience Proven experience working on HGVs and trailersValid HGV Driving Licence (Class C or C+E preferred) - Client is happy to fund if needed Interested please apply today for immediate consideration
