Full Time, 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday- Location:

South West London office, HYBRID- Hourly Rate:

£18 p/h PAYE - £23.28 p/h umbrella (increases after 12 weeks to £24.17 p/h umbrella)About Our Client:Our client is a London Borough Council. They have a strong commitment to ensuring that everyone has access to safe and secure housing.Comprehensive training and development opportunitiesSupportive and inclusive work environmentCollaborative team cultureResponsibilities:As a Homeless Triage Officer, you will:Conduct pre-assessment interviews to provide advice and assistance to individuals in housing need or at risk of homelessnessAssess homeless individuals in person, ensuring necessary documentation is providedProvide comprehensive advice on various housing options and tenancy rightsConduct initial assessments to determine eligibility and identify homelessnessOffer advice and assistance to prevent homelessness, including online housing options and referralsEnsure accurate and up-to-date records of all interactions and advice givenCollaborate with other team members and stakeholders to deliver effective solutionsStay up to date with relevant legislation and policies pertaining to homelessness and housingEssential Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:Working knowledge of the Homelessness Reduction Act and Part VII of the Housing ActDetailed knowledge of housing benefit, council tax benefit, security tenure, homelessness advice, and case managementExperience in dealing with customers both in person and through various communication channelsPrevious experience in housing advice or homelessness servicesStrong organisational and time management skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProficient in using IT applications for data processing and managementDesirable Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:Familiarity with welfare benefits and domestic abuse servicesChecking Section 21 validityAdditional training or certifications in housing-related fieldsTechnologies:Housing system (NEC)How to Apply:To apply for the position of Homeless Triage Officer, please submit your updated CV, outlining your relevant experience and suitability for the role.We welcome applications from all qualified candidates and are committed to promoting diversity and inclusivity in our workforce.
