This is a high-impact technical position ideal for individuals who are passionate about systems thinking, improving engineering capability, and delivering value across software, hardware, and mechatronic systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with engineering users to gather input and feedback on needs, pain points, and expectations.
  • Maintain up-to-date understanding of system engineering processes and relevant legislative and regulatory environments.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and process experts to improve engineering processes and ensure compliance.
  • Define and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for systems engineering efficiency and quality.
  • Contribute to product roadmaps by identifying process, method, tool, and training needs in collaboration with product owners.
  • Support process, methods, and tool development by helping developers apply systems engineering principles effectively.
  • Foster knowledge sharing, mentoring, and best practice dissemination across the engineering community.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Systems Engineering practitioner across the full development lifecycle.
  • Strong practical knowledge of systems engineering tools such as IBM DOORS, Rhapsody, and Catia Magic (or similar).
  • Significant expertise in requirements management, traceability, and validation practices.
  • Practical experience with process/method development in a real-world engineering environment.
  • Ability to influence mindsets and implement complex process and methodology changes.
  • Background in industries such as automotive, defence, aerospace, or rail.
  • Familiarity with key engineering disciplines including:
    • System modelling (SysML/UML)
    • Failure Mode Analysis (FMA)
    • Cybersecurity principles
    • Functional safety (ISO 26262 or equivalent)

Education & Qualifications:

  • Relevant academic background in Systems Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or related disciplines.
  • Systems Engineering certifications (e.g., INCOSE) are highly desirable.

Additional Notes:

  • This is a technical leadership role, not a project management role.
  • Ideal for individuals passionate about developing internal systems engineering capability and improving how engineering is done.
