We have a hybrid working set up and therefore you will be required to attend theoffice minimum twice per week.About the roleAs a Senior Backend Engineer, you will join a cross-functional distributed team of colleagues where you will contribute to the development of a modern, cloud-first system using a modern technology stack. You will be responsible for a specific problem domain within the broader Quinyx system while being expected to take ownership of the system as a whole. You will continuously cooperate with other backend or frontend engineers, QA engineers, product owners, and designers across the RandD team.We are building one of the most successful workforce management systems globally - our customers are, for example, DHL, Burger King, Espresso House, SATS, The Vasa Museum, and a lot of others.

What you’ll be doingDesign, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Java and Spring Boot. Ensure these services are scalable, reliable, and efficient.

Influence product development by providing technical expertise, improving engineering processes, and advocating for best practices in software design.

Lead and/or participate in technical initiatives that span multiple teams, influencing decisions that affect the entire product area.

Contribute to architectural decisions, define best practices, and ensure alignment with long-term technical strategies.

Mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and advocate for clean, maintainable code with a strong emphasis on test automation.

Actively participate in the hiring process, helping to identify and attract top engineering talent.

What you’ll bring to the teamSolid experience as a backend engineer, with expertise in Java and Spring Boot.

Strong knowledge of microservices architecture and distributed systems.

Experience working in cloud environments (AWS)

Deep understanding of system design principles and optimization techniques for performance, scalability, and security.

Quality-driven mindset, with a commitment to high coding standards, test automation, and continuous integration/deployment (CI/CD).

Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and optimize complex backend systems.
