Job Title: Learning Support Assistant (Autism Specialist)

Contract Type: Full-time – Term Time Only
Salary: £90 – £120 per day (depending on experience)

About the Role:
A nurturing and inclusive school in Winslow is seeking a passionate Learning Support Assistant to support pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). You will play a key role in helping children access learning, develop social and communication skills, and feel confident in a structured and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support for pupils with ASC.
• Implement strategies such as TEACCH, PECS, social stories, and visual timetables.
• Support pupils with transitions, routines, and emotional regulation.
• Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, families, and external professionals to ensure consistent support.
• Encourage independence, social interaction, and resilience through structured activities.

Requirements:

• Previous experience supporting children with Autism (school or care setting).
• Knowledge of autism-friendly practices such as sensory regulation, positive handling, or structured teaching approaches.
• Team Teach or similar behaviour management training (desirable).
• Strong communication skills, patience, and ability to build positive relationships.
• Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply.
