The successful appointee will be a Senior Postholder, who can act as an independent advisor to the Corporation, but also work with the Principal and College Executive Team to ensure the timeliness and quality of information shared with the board.The Head of Governance needs to be able to demonstrate a high level of strategic understanding and strong independent judgement to ensure good governance of this £40m business, which provides education and training opportunities to around 8,000 young people and adults every year.The Corporation exercises its business through a number of sub-committees:Finance and ResourcesAudit and Risk CommitteeCurriculum and Quality CommitteeGovernance, Remuneration and Search CommitteeThe College is rated as Good in all aspects by Ofsted and has invested heavily in outstanding buildings and resources to support student learning and teaching. You will need to work flexibly to support the annual timetable of meetings, meaning that working hours might vary from week-to-week.
