Experienced SEN Teaching Assistant required to provide specialist 1:1 support for a student with diabetes and additional needs across mainstream and SEN provisions on a hybrid timetable.

About the role:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a student who accesses both mainstream lessons and specialist SEN provision through a hybrid timetable. The successful candidate will support the student''s educational, social and medical needs throughout the school day, ensuring they can access learning safely and confidently across different settings.

We''re looking for a dedicated candidate to:

• Provide consistent 1:1 support within mainstream classes and the SEN department
• Support learning, engagement and emotional wellbeing throughout the school day
• Monitor and support diabetes management in line with care plans and school procedures
• Recognise and respond appropriately to hypoglycaemia and hyperglycaemia symptoms
• Liaise effectively with teaching staff, SEND professionals and parents/carers
• Promote independence, confidence and positive behaviour
• Ensure the student''s medical and safeguarding needs are met at all times

Requirements -
The ideal candidate would have:

• Previous experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant or Support Worker
• Relevant training and practical experience supporting children or young people with diabetes
• Knowledge of blood glucose monitoring, diabetes management and hypoglycaemia awareness
• Experience supporting students with additional learning needs within education settings
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• A calm, patient and proactive approach
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
