Strategic SEND and Inclusion Lead
Location: Based in Crewe (Hybrid Working), with travel to Macclesfield and other Cheshire East premises
Rate: £55.61 per hour
 
We are seeking an experienced and visionary professional to join us as our Strategic SEND and Inclusion Lead. This is a key opportunity to drive system-wide improvement and inclusive practice, helping to deliver the best possible outcomes for children and young people across the borough.
 
As Strategic SEND and Inclusion Lead, you will:

• Provide strategic leadership for all SEND and inclusion services across the local authority.
• Oversee statutory assessment, educational psychology, autism support, sensory and specialist teaching services, and behaviour support.
• Lead the delivery of the SEND strategy and ensure compliance with all statutory duties through a strong and responsive Local Offer.
• Drive the Delivering Better Value (DBV) programme to embed transformational, sustainable change.
• Foster a high-performance culture centred on accountability, challenge, and continuous improvement.
• Lead the co-production of services with children, young people, parents, and carers, ensuring their experiences shape delivery.
• Ensure inspection readiness and demonstrate real improvement in educational and life outcomes.
• Champion a single, inclusive strategic vision across Children''s Services, other council directorates, and partners.
• Promote joined-up working between children''s and adults'' services to support vulnerable and disadvantaged young people.

We are looking for a senior leader with:

• Strong experience in SEND or inclusive education leadership
• A clear understanding of legislation, inspection frameworks, and system transformation
• Proven ability to drive strategic improvements and lead complex partnerships
• A passion for inclusion and delivering real outcomes for children and families
