Castle Point Borough Council is looking to appoint an Interim Assistant Director - Estates & Asset on a 6-month basis. This is a senior leadership role with a requirement to be in the office a minimum of 3 days per week.
 
Lead the Future of Estates at Castle Point
Working closely with the Director for Commercial & Assets and Elected Members, you''ll play a key role in influencing strategy, driving performance, and delivering meaningful change across the estate.
 
The Role
You''ll be operating at a strategic level, with responsibility for:
·Identifying opportunities to maximise the value and performance of the Council''s asset portfolio
·Leading and delivering the Strategic Asset Management Plan
·Supporting high-profile acquisitions and disposals
·Driving organisational effectiveness, translating strategy into delivery
·Leading, mentoring, and developing a high-performing estates function
·Managing a significant service budget and ensuring value for money
 
About You
You''ll bring a balance of commercial thinking and public sector awareness, with the ability to operate confidently in a political environment.
·Degree qualified with RICS (or equivalent) accreditation
·Minimum 5 years'' proven experience operating at a senior level within estates or asset management in a social housing setting
·Strong track record in complex, stakeholder-heavy environments
·A collaborative leadership style with the ability to bring teams with you
·Experience using innovation and digital solutions to improve service delivery
