This role combines corporate tax leadership with oversight of UK production tax activities, reporting to the Head of UK tax/EMEA Production tax. The successful candidate will manage a team of six, partner with senior leaders across Finance, Legal, Production, and Business Affairs, and act as a key representative with HMRC and other stakeholders. The role supports Netflix’s UK business and production activities, with a focus on UK corporate and international tax issues affecting a US-inbound company.We expect our leaders to uphold Netflix values, modelling integrity, judgment, candor, and resilience to navigate change. Lead, mentor, and develop a team of six tax professionals across corporate and production tax.Foster an inclusive, high-performing, and collaborative culture.Manage hiring, onboarding, and long-term development within the UK tax team.Corporate Tax Compliance and Reporting

Oversee tax filings, provisions, and statutory accounts for UK production entities.Ensure strong internal controls and appropriate documentation for UK tax positions.Monitor developments in UK and international tax law, assess business impact, and lead implementation.Production Tax and Incentives

Advise on production tax incentives, including the UK Audio Visual Expenditure Credit (AVEC) and other incentives across Netflix’s content projects.Partner with production finance and physical production teams on incentive planning, compliance, and monetisation.Advise on UK-specific production tax matters including VAT, PAYE, NIC, and FEU obligations.Support global tax planning and cross-border production structuring as needed.Audit and Risk Management

Serve as the primary contact with HMRC for UK corporate tax matters.Lead enquiry responses and proactively manage risk exposure.Ensure alignment of tax positions across EMEA and globally.Advisory and Cross-Functional Collaboration

Provide strategic tax input on business decisions, including cross-border structuring.Collaborate with Finance, Legal, Treasury, HR, and Content teams on UK and cross-functional matters.Influence senior stakeholders and align Netflix’s UK tax strategy with global initiatives.Experience and Qualities

Typically candidates come from Senior Manager/Director level at an accounting firm or equivalent in-house experience.12+ years of progressive UK tax experience with a focus on corporate tax.Proven ability to manage high-performing teams and develop talent.Ability to empower team members, demonstrate candor, and navigate change.Experience engaging directly with HMRC and managing enquiries or tax audits.Strong ability to communicate complex tax issues in business terms and influence at senior levels.Experience working for or advising US inbound businesses is preferred; transfer pricing experience is helpful; experience in the studio/entertainment industry is beneficial but not required.Inclusion is a Netflix value.
