OverviewEarly Career Fellowships on a Sustainable and Resilient Built Environment Research Agenda at Brunel University London. The programme is funded by the International Science Partnerships Fund (UK Department of Science, Innovation and Technology) through the British Council to appoint early career fellows for 6 to 12 months to collaborate internationally and enhance the quality of their research.
Fellowship Details
Location: Brunel University of London, Uxbridge Campus
Placement: Fixed term (12 months), full-time, up to £40,757 per annum
Fellows may be eligible for additional research-related expenses up to £10,000 per annum (pro rata for shorter fellowships)
Full-time, permanent resident requirements apply as specified in eligibility
Eligibility and Qualifications
Be a permanent resident in Vietnam
Be an Early Career Researcher
Not currently in receipt of financial support or funding towards any other programme in the UK from any other sources
Meet the English language requirement of the UK HEI
Background or demonstrated interest in AI foundations and its application in civil and environmental engineering, including machine learning, sustainable construction, climate adaptation, and intelligent tools; demonstrate future contributions to capacity-building and socio-economic advancement after completing the programme
Agree to maintain contact with the British Council for monitoring and evaluation during and after the fellowship
Not be an employee of the British Council, the UK government or Scottish, Welsh, or Northern Irish governments
Note: ECRs should have completed or be near completion of their PhD (or equivalent research experience). PhD viva must be passed prior to taking up the award. Prior permanent academic posts or roles with supervision of PhD students or PI-level grant submissions may affect eligibility. Time spent in teaching or academic roles does not affect ECR status if no research element was part of the role. Researchers without a PhD but with equivalent research experience may be considered. Participants from for-profit organisations cannot be funded.

The Fellowship Provides
Up to £40,757 per annum (pro rata for shorter fellowships)
Up to £10,000 per annum (pro rata) for research-related expenses, including IELTS exam, return economy airfare, visa costs, and other applicable costs
