LondonStarfish Search are working with a leading charity in the mental health space that are seeking an Interim Head of External Affairs to lead their influencing strategies across media, campaigns, policy and public affairs. You will help ensure that the organisation achieves lasting, impactful systemic and policy change for people’s mental health.You Will:Lead the design, development and delivery of influencing strategies across media, campaigns, policy and public affairs to drive communications and systemic change.Act as a key member of the leadership group, contributing to organisational strategy, operational delivery and culture.Inspire and manage a talented team, supporting their development and wellbeing.Strengthen the charity’s media presence and public profile to further campaigns and influence policy.Act as a spokesperson in national media and at key sector, Government and parliamentary meetings and events.Build and maintain strategic relationships with parliamentarians, Government departments, and sector partners to ensure the charity’s policy agenda is credible and impactful.Ensure the voices and experiences individuals, particularly those most marginalised, are central to policy and campaigning work.You Will Have:Significant experience leading policy and influencing strategies at a senior level, including working directly with Government and Parliament.A strong track record of using media to drive policy change.Proven experience leading impactful campaigns from concept to delivery.Exceptional relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders.Understanding of the policy landscape for mental health and the mechanisms to influence change.Experience inspiring and developing high-performing teams.This is a hybrid role, with 2 days per week in the London office, offered as a 6-month FTC with a salary of £65,000.Please note that due to high application volumes, we regret that we cannot always respond to unsuccessful candidates.Seniority level
