Job Vacancy: Traffic Design Engineer
Location: Bristol
Contract: Initial 6-month                                                                                                                                                 
Rate: £30 p/hour  
 
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Traffic Design Engineer to contribute to the delivery of active travel schemes across Bristol. Projects range from pedestrian and cycle route upgrades to major road widening and junction enhancements.
 
Key Responsibilities:
·Deliver end-to-end scheme designs for highways and junction improvements, including drainage, lighting, and traffic signals.
·Prepare construction information and Health & Safety documentation in line with CDM Regulations.
·Liaise with the public, councillors, and stakeholders during consultations and support legal processes for Traffic Regulation Orders.
·Supervise junior staff and contribute to team objectives and project delivery timelines.
 
What We''re Looking For:
·Strong working knowledge of DMRB, TSRGD, CDM Regulations, and highways construction standards.
·Proven experience managing budgets, monitoring programmes, and providing design support through construction phases.
·Excellent communication, customer service, and stakeholder engagement skills.
