RM Recruit are excited to be working with a Birmingham based organisation who are seeking a proactive Senior Finance Officer to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis. Our client can provide a flexible, hybrid working arrangement with the office presence set at three days per week and two days working from home. You will play a key part in ensuring strong financial governance, accurate forecasting, and compliance with internal and external financial regulations, supporting informed decision-making at both operational and strategic levels. Key Responsibilities Review, monitor, and maintain accurate budget forecasts in line with university financial requirements, escalating issues and risks as appropriate. Produce timely, accurate budget and financial reports to support effective decision-making for projects and departmental operations. Work closely with budget holders to ensure budgets are managed effectively, providing clear financial advice and guidance where required. Investigate budget variances, identify areas of concern, and report financial issues to project managers or senior staff. Prepare detailed financial costings for new project bids and support the development of resource utilisation models and financial business plans. Lead project audits through to completion, ensuring full compliance with internal and external financial regulations.
