Sen Teaching Assistant
Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant, Leamington Spa, Long-Term Roles
You don’t have to be a teacher to change how a child feels about school. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you’re often the first to notice when something’s wrong, and the first to see the moment something clicks.
Are you a Teaching Assistant in or around Leamington Spa who wants a full-time, long-term role supporting students with additional needs? We work with a range of schools, so we’d love to discuss what you’re looking for and see how we can help.
What you’ll do
- Support students with autism, speech and language needs, communication difficulties, SEMH and ADHD
- Work 1:1 and in small groups, helping students access lessons at their own pace
- Build steady, trusting relationships with students who may take time to open up
- Follow the school’s strategies and share what you notice with teachers and the SENCO
- Help students manage routines, transitions and big feelings through the school day
- Contribute to progress notes and feedback in the way each school asks
What you’ll need
- A degree in child psychology, psychology or a related subject, or a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
- Or at least 6 months’ experience supporting students with additional needs in a UK school
- Patience, calm and a willingness to take feedback and keep learning
- Ideally, availability for full-time, term-time work
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or a willingness to apply for one
What we offer
Full-time, long-term placements, daily rates paid weekly, and a dedicated consultant who’ll be honest about what each school can offer in induction and support before you decide.
