Pay: -95 - -105 per day, depending on experience
Contract: Full-time, term-time
Start Date: Immediate

Are you confident managing challenging behaviour, skilled in de-escalation and passionate about building positive relationships with young people?

TimePlan Education is working with a welcoming specialist school on The Wirral seeking a resilient, proactive and engaging Behaviour Support Assistant for an immediate start.

This is an excellent opportunity to support students across Key Stages 3 and 4, particularly those with ADHD, SEMH and additional needs who may struggle to engage in larger classrooms or traditional mainstream school environments.

About the School

Part of an established academy trust, the school provides personalised education for young people who benefit from smaller learning environments, tailored support and a more individualised approach. With dedicated sensory and regulation spaces, the school focuses on helping students develop emotional regulation, confidence, positive relationships and independence.

The Role

As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group behavioural support to students.

  • Use effective de-escalation techniques to manage challenging situations safely and positively.

  • Support students with ADHD, SEMH and associated behavioural needs.

  • Build trusting relationships to encourage engagement, cooperation and positive behaviour.

  • Recognise triggers and help students develop emotional regulation strategies.

  • Support students who struggle with large classrooms, busy environments or traditional school structures.

  • Encourage positive choices, confidence, resilience and independence.

  • Work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to maintain a consistent approach to behaviour support.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Previous experience managing challenging behaviour in education, SEN, SEMH, youth work or care settings.

  • Strong behaviour management and practical de-escalation skills.

  • Experience or understanding of ADHD and emotional regulation.

  • A calm, patient, resilient and consistent approach.

  • The ability to build rapport and positive relationships with young people.

  • Confidence working with students who require additional structure and individualised support.

Relevant Team Teach, MAPA or other positive handling/de-escalation training would be advantageous.

Why Apply?

  • Full-time, term-time position.

  • Supportive and collaborative staff team.

  • Dedicated sensory and wellbeing facilities.

  • Rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in specialist SEN education.
