Contractor Structural Draughtsperson (Inventor)

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Structural Draughtsperson to join a specialist engineering organisation delivering projects within the offshore oil and gas sector. This is an excellent opportunity for a contractor looking to work on technically challenging structural design projects within a highly regarded engineering environment.

The successful candidate will play a key role in producing high-quality structural drawings and models using Autodesk Inventor, supporting engineering teams throughout the project lifecycle.

This is an initial 6-month contract with strong potential for extension. The position operates outside IR35, making it suitable for Limited Company contractors.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce detailed structural fabrication and assembly drawings using Autodesk Inventor.
• Develop and maintain 3D models for offshore oil and gas structures and related equipment.
• Generate manufacturing drawings, GA drawings and detailed structural documentation.
• Work closely with structural engineers and project teams to ensure designs meet project requirements.
• Ensure drawings comply with relevant industry standards, specifications and client requirements.
• Support design reviews and incorporate engineering comments and design changes as required.
• Manage and maintain drawing records and documentation throughout project delivery.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years'' experience in a Structural Draughting or Structural Design role.
• Strong proficiency with Autodesk Inventor.
• Previous experience working within the offshore oil and gas, marine, energy, offshore renewables or heavy engineering sectors.
• Ability to interpret engineering calculations and technical specifications.
• Experience producing detailed fabrication and manufacturing drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.

Contract Details

• Initial 6-month contract with potential for further extensions.
• Outside IR35 engagement.
• Suitable for Limited Company contractors.
• Hybrid working arrangement with 2 days per week in the Central London office and the remainder working remotely.
• Full-time contract hours.
