The role involves carrying out a wide range of service, maintenance, diagnostic, and repair work on modern vehicles, including petrol, diesel, and light commercial vehicles. The successful candidate will be confident working with both mechanical and electronic vehicle systems and capable of diagnosing faults accurately and efficiently.ResponsibilitiesCarry out scheduled servicing in line with manufacturer service schedulesPerform mechanical repairs including brakes, suspension, steering, exhausts, timing belts/chains, clutches, and engine componentsDiagnose and rectify faults across engine management, ABS, airbag (SRS), traction control, and electronic stability systemsIdentify and repair electrical faults including wiring, sensors, actuators, batteries, charging systems, and starter motorsUse manufacturer-level and aftermarket diagnostic equipment to interrogate vehicle ECUs, read fault codes, live data, and carry out system testsCarry out fault-finding using wiring diagrams, technical data, and guided diagnosticsReset service indicators and perform ECU coding/adaptations where requiredCarry out pre-MOT inspections, fault rectification, and MOT failure repairsConduct road tests before and after repairs to ensure issues are fully
