Event Network Engineer

Gloucester/Lots of Travel Required | Up to -40,000

Our client is looking for an Event Network Engineer to join their growing technical operations team. This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys working in fast-paced environments, travelling across the UK, and delivering technology solutions that keep major events running smoothly.

This role involves extensive travel, regular overnight stays and working on-site at events, including weekends and unsociable hours during busy periods. Candidates with an events, exhibitions, conference, festival, retail technology or live event production background will be particularly well suited to the role.

Key Responsibilities

• Deploy temporary networks and event technology solutions.
• Install and support EPOS, MPOS and payment systems.
• Provide on-site technical support during live events.
• Troubleshoot networking and connectivity issues.
• Lead and support teams on event sites.
• Assist with equipment setup, testing and de-rigging.
• Ensure Health & Safety and operational standards are maintained.

The Right Candidate Will Have

• Previous experience within events, exhibitions, conferences, festivals or a similar site-based environment.
• Strong networking knowledge including IP addressing, VLANs, routing and switching.
• Experience with structured cabling, fibre and PoE technologies.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to work under pressure in fast-moving environments.
• Strong communication and customer-facing skills.
• A full UK driving licence.
• Experience with EPOS, payment solutions or retail technology would be highly advantageous.

Important Information

• Extensive UK travel is required.
• Regular weekend working and overnight stays should be expected.
• This is a hands-on, site-based role rather than a traditional office-based IT support position.
