Hours: 08:30 – 15:30, Monday to Friday

A welcoming secondary school in Andover is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team from October. This is a long-term role with the exciting possibility of becoming permanent for the right candidate.

The position is focused on supporting students with Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs), working both 1:1 and in small groups. You’ll be making a genuine difference to students’ educational, social, and emotional development, ensuring they can thrive in a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

• Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support to students with EHCPs.

• Work closely with teachers to adapt lessons and resources to individual learning needs.

• Encourage and promote positive behaviour, supporting both academic and personal development.

• Contribute to creating an inclusive, engaging classroom environment.

• Monitor progress and share feedback with teachers and the wider support team.

• Previous experience supporting students with EHCPs, SEN, or similar needs.

• A genuine passion for helping young people overcome barriers to learning.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with staff, students, and parents.

• Patience, empathy, and resilience.

• The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

• Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.

• Relevant qualifications in Education or Special Educational Needs (SEN) are desirable but not essential.
