Mechanical Design Engineer

£45-50k + Pension, Annual Bonus, 30 Days Holiday

This is a great opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to be a part of a growing and innovative engineering business developing materials handling projects for customers across the food and beverage sector.

The Role:

From concept design and product development through to build support and commissioning, this varied position offers the opportunity to get involved in:

• Designing bespoke machinery, automation equipment, conveyors and handling systems
• Producing detailed 3D models, assemblies and manufacturing drawings using Autodesk Inventor
• Developing practical, cost-effective and manufacturable engineering solutions
• Supporting R&D activities, prototyping and new machine development
• Working on sheet metal, stainless steel fabrication and automation-focused projects
• Collaborating with production, service and project teams throughout the project life cycle
• Providing technical support during machine build, testing and installation
• Troubleshooting design and manufacturing challenges
• Contributing ideas to improve machine performance, reliability and build quality
• Supporting projects from concept through to customer delivery

The following experience would be particularly beneficial:

• Conveyor design experience
• Prototype testing and product validation
• Stainless steel fabrication knowledge
• Inventor 3D design
