Job Title: Asbestos Bulk Analyst

Due to continued company growth, our client is recruiting for a P401 qualified Asbestos Lab Analyst to join their privately-owned outfit. This is a UKAS accredited company, who provide full laboratory, surveying and asbestos management services, with a stronghold in the South East of England. Our client is seeking someone who holds a good track record within the industry, who can comfortably work to set targets and safety guidelines. Applicants must be able to commute easily as you will be operating within the laboratory daily. Salaries on offer are competitive and benefits packages are comprehensive.

Ideally, you will be local to: Grays, Tilbury, Dagenham, Hornchurch, Ilford, Barking, Chigwell, Epping, Enfield, Ingatestone, Harlow, Maldon, Witham, Chelmsford, Billericay, Wickford, South Woodham Ferrers, Hockley, Rochford, Southend-on-Sea, Canvey Island, South Benfleet, Basildon, Erith, Dartford, Gravesend, Bexleyheath.

Experience / Qualifications:

• Proven track record of analysing samples for the presence of asbestos fibres
• Must hold the BOHS P401
• Excellent understanding of the UKAS and HSG guidelines
• Able to efficiently manage your own workload
• Good literacy and numeracy skills
• Confident using IT software

The Role:

• Conducting analysis on samples to identify the presence and type of asbestos fibre
• Using PLM and stero light microscopy methods
• Logging new samples and storing correctly
• Updating internal records with analysis results
• Creating and issuing analysis certificates
• Adhering to set targets
• Carrying out quality assurance checks
• Supporting the maintenance of UKAS accreditation
• Maintaining laboratory equipment
