Mechanical Design Engineer Castleford PERMANENT 45k - 53k Our client, a large engineering business based near Castleford, have an immediate requirement to recruit a well versed Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team. Purpose of the Role: This role is key to the development and optimisation of engineered products, requiring a strong understanding of manufacturing processes and a hands-on approach to design, testing, and validation. The Role will involve Design and develop components and assemblies using robust engineering principles Work with manufacturing methods including injection moulding, casting, and machined components Specify and manage tolerances and material selections to ensure performance and manufacturability Conduct Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to validate and optimise designs Plan and carry out testing, analyse results, and drive continuous improvement Take full ownership of design projects from concept through to production Ensure work is delivered in line with project deadlines and business priorities Liaise with suppliers to support design development and manufacturing processes Maintain accurate documentation within company systems Requirements Strong knowledge of injection moulding, casting, and machining processes Good understanding of tolerancing (e.g. GDandT) and material specifications Experience with FEA tools and analysis Proven ability to conduct testing and interpret results Technical Skills Proficiency in Creo (3D CAD) Experience ..... full job details .....
