General Operator (2 Shift Temp to Perm) Location: Ferryhill Pay Rate: £14.65 per hour (2 shift rate) Contract: Temporary to Permanent Department: Primary Operations Jackson Hogg are hiring on behalf of our client in Ferryhill (Primary Ops) for a General Operator to join their sheet metal manufacturing team on a temp-to-perm basis. This is an excellent opportunity to secure a long-term position within a well-established engineering environment. Working Pattern Day 1 induction on dayshift Moving straight onto a 2-shift rotation Full-time hours Pay £14.65 per hour (2 shift rate advertised rate) Initial induction day paid at £12.21 per hour (dayshift rate) The Role You will be working within the Primary Operations department, supporting production activities in a sheet metal manufacturing environment. Key responsibilities include: Working with sheet metal components Using hand dressing tools and automated dressing machines Carrying out basic metal dressing (training provided where required) Reading and interpreting engineering drawings (first and third angle projection essential) Setting machine tools where required Working independently within a team of approximately six operators Completing in-process inspections at the correct frequency and quality standard Candidate Requirements Experience within a sheet metal or manufacturing environment Ability to read and understand engineering drawings Experience using hand tools in a production setting Ability to work unsupervised
