Overview
Health and Safety Manager : Rail – Rainham, Essex. A leading utilities company is seeking a skilled and experienced Health and Safety Manager to join their team in the rail division. This is a permanent position with a competitive salary and the opportunity to drive a positive safety culture and ensure compliance with legislative requirements and best practices across the business.You will oversee the implementation of health and safety policies and procedures, act as the designated Responsible Person for all HSQE (Health, Safety, Quality, and Environment) matters, and provide technical advice and support to field teams, supervisors, and managers. You will be a key point of contact for all health and safety inquiries.Responsibilities
Acting as the Responsible Person for health and safety, overseeing CDM 2015 duties.Managing and maintaining relevant certifications like ISO 9001 and 14001.Delivering HSQE inductions and providing ongoing safety training and mentoring.Leading accident investigations and producing reports.Conducting internal audits and site safety inspections.Maintaining a working knowledge of all HSE legislation.Candidate Profile
We are looking for someone with at least two years of experience in a similar role. Experience in the utilities sector, particularly rail, and a full driving license (field-based role with travel to different sites daily) are essential. A NEBOSH Diploma, NVQ, or NCRQ certificate is desirable, and membership of a professional body like IIRSM or IOSH is a plus. You should be a strong communicator who can build relationships and positively influence others to adopt a safe approach.What We Offer
