The RoleWe’re looking for a proactive and skilled Workshop Supervisor to support our Workshop Manager in the smooth day-to-day running of our busy workshop. You will coordinate production activities, oversee schedules, and lead a talented team of joiners, machinists, and finishers. This is a hands-on role where leadership, problem-solving, and a commitment to high standards will help us maintain our reputation for outstanding results and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate daily workshop activities, ensuring efficient workflow and resource allocation
Oversee job boards, work instructions, and production schedules to meet deadlines and quality expectations
Lead, motivate, and develop workshop staff, promoting a culture of safety, pride in craftsmanship, and teamwork
Conduct regular health, safety, and environmental checks, ensuring compliance and high housekeeping standards
Support quality control processes to ensure all finished products meet company and client specifications
Provide training, guidance, and mentoring to team members and apprentices
Work closely with the Workshop Manager and wider business to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement
About You
Proven experience in a joinery or manufacturing workshop environment (supervisory or team lead experience desirable)
Strong knowledge of health and safety practices and workshop procedures
Excellent organisational and communication skills
Ability to motivate, coach, and support a diverse team
Detail-focused with a passion for delivering work of the highest standard
Practical problem-solving skills and a proactive, can-do approach
