Job Title: SEN Intervention Tutor Maths & English (Part-Time)
Location: South Manchester
Pay Rate: GBP25 per hour (starting rate)
Start Date: After Easter Half Term
Job Type: Temporary | Part-Time | Approx. 20 hours per week

We are recruiting an experienced SEN Intervention Tutor to support students across South Manchester who require targeted, one-to-one support in Maths and English outside of mainstream education.

This role involves working with learners with complex Special Educational Needs (SEN), including Autism, ADHD, SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health), and those who may be disengaged from education or working below expected academic levels.

You will deliver focused intervention sessions aimed at closing learning gaps, improving engagement, and building confidence in core subjects. This is a flexible, part-time role starting after the Easter half term.

Key Responsibilities:
Deliver structured 1:1 Maths and English intervention sessions tailored to individual needs.
Assess gaps in learning and plan targeted strategies to support progress.
Adapt teaching approaches in line with EHCP targets and learning profiles.
Support behaviour, engagement, and emotional regulation through consistency.
Build strong, positive relationships to re-engage students with learning.
Track and report on progress to parents, carers, and relevant professionals.

Essential Requirements:
Minimum 1 year of experience delivering intervention, tutoring, or teaching Maths and/or English.
Experience working with students with SEN, particularly on a 1:1 basis.
Strong understanding of intervention strategies and differentiated learning.
Confident behaviour management and adaptability.
Right to work in the UK.
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.

Desirable:
PGCE, QTS, or equivalent teaching qualification.
Experience supporting students with Autism, ADHD, or SEMH needs.
Background in alternative provision, outreach, or intervention-based roles.

This role would suit a resilient, proactive tutor who is confident delivering Maths and English interventions and is passionate about helping students overcome barriers to learning in a flexible, part-time setting.
