Specialist Teaching and Assessment

• An SEN Teacher would plan differentiated learning sequences with achievable goals, using practical and accessible resources.
• The SEN Teacher could adapt communication approaches for pupils with autism, speech and language needs or learning difficulties as appropriate to the setting.
• As an SEN Teacher, you would incorporate emotional regulation and predictable routines into classroom teaching.
• A successful SEN Teacher would assess individual progress and collaborate with SENCOs, therapists and support staff where relevant.
• Maintain safeguarding standards and communicate constructively with families and school colleagues.

What We''re Looking For in a SEN Teacher

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential for a SEN Teacher.
• Relevant experience teaching pupils with SEND or demonstrable specialist training and classroom practice.
• Confidence adapting curriculum content, assessment and communication to individual needs.
• Strong teamwork, professional judgement, patience and safeguarding knowledge.
