Senior Project Manager

OverviewUnited Living Group is seeking a Senior Project Manager to manage our clients in key Gas Transmission Asset Upgrades. The role involves working in a dynamic, fast-paced organisation and offers the opportunity to work on strategic projects and stakeholder management, developing further within project management.
The project is a two-stage Design and Build project involving the installation of a new 15 MW gas turbine-driven compressor at an existing client site on the boundary of Gloucestershire and Worcestershire.
You will be initially based between our Warrington office and our design partner''s offices in Woking, with some flexibility for remote work during the design phase. During construction, the role is expected to be on site full-time.
Duties and Responsibilities
Take all necessary actions to ensure work is carried out within project requirements and timescales, managing the Company’s obligations and rights under the contract.
Manage the design partner to ensure they meet all deliverable timescales in accordance with the project programme.
Prepare and maintain project documentation, including Risk Register, Issue Register, Daily Log, project schedules, project budgets and governance approvals.
Provide up-to-date reports and presentations on project progress and highlight potential risks to relevant parties.
Develop and maintain excellent working relationships through effective communication with the Client, designers and stakeholders; liaise with the Client to build trust and understanding; attend meetings and Client events.
Support and facilitate project meetings and accurately record outcomes.
In conjunction with the project manager and Quantity Surveyor, prepare accurate CVRs, identify risks and opportunities, and advise on forecast monthly turnover to support target profitability.
Promote high standards of health, safety and environmental management by attending Health and Safety meetings, developing Health and Safety Plans, ensuring compliance with company procedures, carrying out SHEQ and quality audits, and setting a good example.
In conjunction with internal teams, assess, select and appoint sub-contractors based on financial and quality performance; undertake regular reviews to ensure work is carried out to high and safe standards; agree scopes of each sub-contract package.
Travel within the UK to various locations will be required regularly.
QualificationsYou will have 10+ years'' relevant experience, preferably with a construction, energy or engineering background. Experience of Design and Build projects is essential.
Technical knowledge of Gas process systems would be advantageous.
Awareness of commercial management aspects, including scope, change and forecasting.
Working knowledge of CDM 2015 Regulations and the Designer and Principal Contractor’s roles.
Knowledge of the industry, environment and context; experience working within a similar regulated utility environment; experience delivering gas projects is desirable.
Excellent communication and written skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
Full, clean driving licence.
