About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled

Data Scientist

to join our team on a contract basis. The successful candidate will play a key role in extracting insights from large and complex datasets, developing predictive models, and applying advanced analytics to solve real business challenges.

This is an excellent opportunity for a data professional who thrives in dynamic environments and is eager to deliver measurable impact through innovative data-driven solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Pre-process structured and unstructured data to ensure quality and usability.

Enhance data collection methods to capture all relevant information for analytical systems.

Cleanse, process, and validate datasets to maintain integrity and accuracy.

Analyse large volumes of information to identify patterns, trends, and actionable insights.

Design and implement predictive models and machine learning algorithms.

Present results and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Propose strategies and solutions to complex business problems.

Perform data mining and extract usable data from various sources.

Apply feature selection and optimise classifiers using machine learning tools.

Skills and Qualifications

Programming:

Proficiency in Python and SQL is essential. Experience with Hive/Hadoop, Pig, Scala, or Java would be advantageous.

Statistics:

Strong applied statistical skills, including hypothesis testing, regression, distributions, and maximum likelihood estimators.

Machine Learning:

Working knowledge of algorithms such as k-NN, Naïve Bayes, SVM, and Decision Forests.

Mathematics:

Solid foundation in Multivariable Calculus and Linear Algebra for algorithm optimisation.

Data Wrangling:

Skilled in handling imperfect datasets to prepare them for analysis.

Visualisation:

Experience with tools such as Splunk and Power BI to communicate insights effectively.
