CSR and Sustainability Manager

Overview
CSR and Sustainability Manager role supporting the University of Greenwich in delivering sustainability and social value goals, with Sodexo alongside the university.In this high-impact role, you’ll shape a greener, more socially responsible university campus through focus areas such as energy management, waste reduction, and carbon initiatives, as well as community engagement, student employability, and programmes that create measurable positive outcomes for students, staff, and the wider community.Your work will support the University’s Sustainability Strategy, Sodexo’s Better Tomorrow 2025 vision, and the UN Sustainable Development Goals, leaving a lasting legacy of innovation and positive change.
Responsibilities
Sustainability and Environmental Impact
Lead energy, utilities, waste, and carbon-reduction programmes across the campus.
Monitor compliance with environmental legislation and industry best practice.
Produce accurate reports on sustainability KPIs, utilities, and carbon data.
Identify innovative opportunities for efficiency and environmental improvements.
Train teams to embed sustainable behaviours across operations.
Social Value and Community Engagement
Deliver initiatives that promote wellbeing, equity, and employability.
Coordinate programmes such as DFN Project SEARCH to support neurodiverse employment opportunities.
Build partnerships to support community engagement and volunteering activities.
Drive sustainability education campaigns and awareness across the university.
Student Experience and Communications
Create inclusive and engaging student welcome experiences and employability workshops.
Deliver regular communication campaigns, from newsletters to social media, to keep staff and students engaged.
Gather and analyse stakeholder feedback to continuously improve programmes.
What you bring
A degree in sustainability, environmental management, social impact, or equivalent experience.
At least
3 years’ experience
in sustainability and/or social value delivery.
Strong knowledge of environmental legislation and frameworks such as TOMs and ISO 14001.
Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
Analytical mindset with the ability to turn data into actionable insights.
A confident communicator with experience delivering presentations, workshops, and campaigns.
Ability to juggle multiple projects and drive measurable impact.
Desirable
Membership with IEMA, CIWM, or similar.
IOSH or NEBOSH certifications.
Experience with international student engagement or ANUK-accredited environments.
